These classes will be run under SPSBSrules and are confined to ponies registered with the Shetland Pony Stud-Book Society which is providing rosettes for the Supreme Champion and Reserve. Ponies must be named on the entry form. The competition is an accumulator open to all. Membership of the show societies is not required. Not to have won a first prize in a ridden class prior to the closing date of entries, except in the following events; Harness, Cleanest turnout, Jumping, Riding School Teams & Gymkhana Events. Ist placed will receive a Complete Tack Box (RRP £74.95) 2nd and 3rd placed riders will receive Carr & Day & Martin goody bags. Conformation will not be taken into account. 404 OPEN RIDDEN PONY Pony mare or gelding 4 yrs and over. Not exceeding 14.2hh. Rider may be any age, but should be of appropriate build for the size & type of pony. To be judged on conformation mannners & type. 405 - PONY CLUB PONY Mare or gelding 4 years and over. Not exceeding 14.2hh. Riders 16 years or under. To be judged on suitability to take part in all Pony Club activities. Competitors will be asked to jump a couple of small fences 406 - OPEN RIDDEN COLOURED Mare or gelding 4 yrs and over. Any height Skewbald, Piebald, Appaloosa, Palamino or Dun. Rider any age. To be judged on manners and performance as well as conformation and quality of colour or markings 407 - OPEN RIDDEN SHOW COB Mare or gelding 4 yrs and over. Over 14.2hh. To be judged on conformation, manners & type. 408 - OPEN RIDING HORSE Mare or gelding 4 yrs and over. Over 14.2hh To be judged on manners and performance as well as conformation and type RIDDEN PONY CHAMPIONSHIP - See above for details RIDDEN HORSE CHAMPIONSHIP The 1st & 2nd placed combinations from the following classes will compete for the CALA HOMES CHALLENGE TROPHY. To be held for one year. Champion & Reserve rosettes will also be awared Open Ridden Cob Open Riding Horse Open Ridden Hunter Open Working Hunter DRIVING CLASSES The driving classes will be held in the Main Ring, created by combining the three showing rings in the afternoon to create a large arena. The classes will follow on from the heavy horse classes, not before 2pm. There will be a commentary for the benefit of show visitors and it would be very helpful if exhibitors could provide some information on their turnouts. This may be sent in with the entry form or passed to the steward in charge on the day. As well as the type/history of the vehicle and the name and age of the horse/pony we would like to hear of past form or any points of interest. Trophy to be held for one year. 113 - PRIVATE DRIVING 13.2hh & under Traditional vehicle, pair or single. 114 - PRIVATE DRIVING over 13.2hh Traditional vehicle, pair or single. 115 - PLEASURE DRIVING Any height horse or pony, any vehicle (including pneumatic tyres) To be judged 15% on vehicle suitability, fit & cleanliness, 15% on harness suitability, fit & cleanliness and 70% on driver and groom, horse/ponys way of going and suitability as a family pleasure driving animal. Competitors may be required to drive and halt between 2 pairs of cones and execute a U-turn in their individual show |
